A Trip Down Memory Lane

Every month or so I head back to my hometown, Sacramento. It’s always nice to visit family and stroll along areas where I used to get into get into trouble (ok, not that much trouble). I start to feel really old when I catch myself saying, “I remember way back when…” We passed by the state capitol and memories started to flood my mind of my days as a State Assembly intern when I was 15 years old.

On this day, I wore one of my favorite maxis with a mermaid bottom and an open back detail. The material is super thin so I have to pair a cover-up for no nip sightings— a sheer, black, collared blouse with gold studs and front tie definitely did the trick! I showed off the deep plunge in the front with one of my fave gold pieces by Bobbi J.

I think I found my new party pants because these babies right here put me in the best mood! Not to mention, they’re super roomy, lightweight, and heck, they even have an elastic tie waist (perfect for the buffet)! Since there’s so much going on down below, I paired it with a black tank, studded flats and added a pop of color with fun rainbow aviators.

My new M.A.C. supreme sheen lipstick in ‘Zen Rose’ is definitely my favorite at the moment.

Loving all the little studs.
Just a little arm party of two.

I love little details like this gold zipper.

Deuces!

Sunday Funday: Anniversary Edition in Cobalt Blue and Bright Orange

OH-EM-GEE I finally found some time to blog! I just started the Fashion Merchandise Marketing graduate program at FIDM San Francisco last week, so I’m getting adjusted to my new schedule and crazy workload. And let me tell ya, this ain’t no joke!

Anyway, this past Monday was mine and my boyfriend’s 6th anniversary! (If any one of you asks me when he’s going to propose, I will personally punch you in the face! lol) So on Sunday, we decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather and have a celebratory brunch after we took care of our babies (our plants) followed by some intense go-kart racing– we’re adrenaline junkies like that.

I opted for a new, cobalt blue lace number from Express that I’ve been dyyyyiinngg to wear when the weather reached over 70 degrees along with BCBG studded sandals in orange. I had to show my excitement and love for spring some kind of way and this is the best route I know how– through my clothes!

So go on and click for lots of shots of our beautiful, celebratory day…enjoy!

I’ve had these beauties for years and I’m still in love with them. Thank you BCBG!

Before this, I had never tried eggs benedict. After reading raving reviews on Yelp, I had to try their crabcake eggs benedict. They are truly, the bomb.com

Look of the Day: Graphic Tee + Leopard Loafers

On this rainy day, this wasn’t the smartest outfit to put together. Unfortunately, it started to drizzle as soon as the bf and I closed the front door as we were heading out to Target and house hunt in the East Bay. Dodging puddles of water in loafers is not the business. Oh well! At least I was comfy (insert shoulder shrug here).

Vintage leather jacket from Dad– butter soft! Plus my fave graphic tee of the legendary, Bob Marley.

A sale steal I snagged from Macy’s for $30. Can you believe these calf hair loafers are Aerosoles? So damn comfortable!

Slicked high bun is my number one go-to look for lazy days.

In Love With Bobbi J Jewelry

It’s a beautiful thing when one of your best friends is a jewelry designer. I’m a huge supporter for anything that my friends do, because that’s what friends are for. Plus, her sh*t is dope! I have been eyeing almost everything on her site, but especially for a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings. The ‘La Bella’ earrings were it! So I ordered and little did I know, a custom necklace was also placed in my shipment. A brass pendant necklace was the best surprise. To top it off, ‘PUMPS’ was hammered onto the lovely piece. Thank you Jessica for all the love!

Vintage Steal from Dad’s Closet: Army Utility Jacket

I haven’t won the lottery yet, but I sure did hit the jackpot in my dad’s closet. So far, I’ve picked up three amazing jackets dating back to the 70s and 80s. One of them is this awesome army green utility jacket. It’s super roomy, lightweight and has lots of pockets. Gotta love that super soft, worn-in feel too. The funny part about my stealing borrowing from my dad is that he completely forgot that jacket was still in his closet– let alone that it was even his!
So here I am in dad’s (now mine) jacket, chevron print scarf, leggings, tall boots and graphic tank:

Look of the Day: Lace + Sheer

Last week, I spent most of my time in Sacramento with my parents. One of the many things we share in common is our love for coffee (Organo Gold to be specific). We are true caffeine fanatics. During our ‘afternoon coffee break’, Pops snatched my precious camera and started snapping away like paparazzi.

Here are some shots of yours truly sporting a sheer blouse with a great lace detail on the shoulders, collar, and cuff. Also complimented with Gap jeans, Dolce Vita tall boots, Michael Kors rose gold watch, plus sunnies and gold flower earrings from H&M.

Look of the Day: Rolled Up & Polka-Dot

Lately in the Bay Area, we’ve been experiencing some amazing winter sunshine. Birds are chirping, strangers are smiling, and I’m the giddiest kid in the world. On Wednesday I had an appointment in the city so, I rolled up a pair of skinny jeans and navy blazer over a white tank and sp orted a lavender polka-dot scarf. I added a little bling with gold spiked ballet flats, rose gold watch, and purple heart studs and locket necklace. Just enough for a casual feel yet a tad bit dressed up for the meeting.

Look of the Day: Long Live Leopard!

Yesterday was a long day filled with special people in my life: lunch with the boyfriend and daddy plus a raging housewarming party for a dear girlfriend of mine.
I wanted a laid-back glam look, but not too plain jane. You may recognize these jeans from my previous post. Yup, those $68 jeans from Urban Outfitters that I snagged on sale for $4.99! I still can’t believe the amazing deal. Rolled up my sleeves and knotted a now extra baggy blouse thanks to a recent 18-pound weight loss. Black suede Steve Madden pumps are sky high and sexy, but they keep my dogs howlin’! Gold jewelry, blue eyeliner, and red lipstick seal the deal and I was off being a social butterfly.

Weekend Adventures

Went a little camera crazy on Sunday when Pops came into town. The weather was absolutely amazing, everyone was cheery for the holiday weekend and I couldn’t ask for more. What I love about hanging out with my dad is that we have no agenda to abide by. It’s all about enjoying the present moment whether we’re strolling down a busy shopping avenue, getting a bite to eat, sipping tea or coffee at a cafe, people watching, or taking a drive up the hills to reach the top and catch a pretty view of the bay.

Here are some shots of our lovely Sunday. Hope you enjoy!
