All White Everything

‘Tis the season for bright colors and more importantly, white! THE dress to snag on your next shopping spree is a white dress. In many styles, textures and lengths, a white dress is your summer go-to for day and night events this season. And to top it off, you can pair it with any color shoes, handbags and accessories! Go neutral, go bold, go bright or metallic! How much fun is that?!

Here are my favorite white dresses for summer:

Check Me Out: "It’s In the Bag" Interview

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Lotus Blossom Design for their “It’s In the Bag” piece. Check it out here or scroll down below.

It’s In the Bag

Welcome to It’s In the Bag, where we interview our favorite people to see what’s in their bag and learn a little more about them.

This week we are featuring my sister-in-law, Xio. She has a great sense of style and always looks so put together. Here’s a little more about our featured friend.

What are two fun facts about yourself?I’m a brand new marathon runner, and I’ve danced with Prince on stage.

What bag are you rocking in your picture?MICHAEL Michael Kors Hamilton Large Tote in Black. It’s the perfect size, fabulous leather, and I love the gold chains. It’s a classic black handbag with a bit of an edge.

What are two things in your bag right now that you can’t live without?Chapstick and hand sanitizer! I can’t stand it when my lips get dry, and I’m a huge germaphobe! There are plenty more I can’t live without in my purse (cell phone, wallet, keys, etc.), but those are the top two that would drive me to the brink of insanity.

Who Is your favorite designer and why?
My favorite designer is Diane von Furstenberg because her designs are sophisticated and chic and made to accentuate a woman’s most flattering areas of the body. She’s not afraid of bold colors and prints, and I’m all about those two.

What do you do when you are not blogging? What is your job?
I work in sales, marketing, and merchandising for a local high-end boutique called McMullen. I manage our social media pages, create email campaigns, design print ads, merchandise and manage the the store. Check us out: http://www.shopmcmullen.com/

How would you describe your personal style?
I’m quite the chameleon. Some days I dress pretty girly and feminine with lots of “floral” and “flowy” going on and other days I’ll dress completely different in tall combat boots, distressed denim, tank and a leather studded vest. If I had to summarize in two words, my personal style would be clean and edgy because my style ranges in both spectrums.

With Love From the West Coast,
XOXO

Tie Me Up: Knotted Shirt Style

When a knotted shirt comes to mind, I envision a cowgirl wearing a plaid, red, tight, sleeveless and midriff baring knotted shirt. Of course, things have changed since the 90s and this season’s knotted shirts a bit different! Think of a relaxed, collared button-up gone blouse. Brands like Equipment and Theory have designed effortless and relaxed knotted shirts in ultra-luxe fabrics. Pair solid or pattern knotted shirt with a fabulous pair of denim, wide leg pant or maxi skirt for a super chic and casual look.

Video Time: Dry Shampoo How-To

What every girl needs: dry shampoo. Stylists recommend that we should not wash our hair every day. Doing that will strip your hair of its natural oils that keep it healthy and shiny. In between washes, try using a dry shampoo (powder or spray) that will keep your scalp smelling and feeling fresh and oil-free at the roots.

Driving the Wedge

My ultimate go-to for heels that are sky high and provide the most comfort are wedges (duh!). Wooden, cork, espadrilles, flatform, hidden, wrapped and architectural wedges all sport the best finishing touch for a fab spring and summer look. Thanks to the arch support in wedges, your feet will last a lot longer (thank God!) so don’t hesitate when selecting which shoes to sport for a full day of festivities.

Here are the wedges I’m loving for this season:

Theodora & Callum

Steve Madden
Dior
Marc by Marc Jacobs

Miz Mooz

Nine West

Paloma Barcelo

Rebecca Minkoff

Steven by Steve Madden

Valentino

Take the Heat

With summer around the corner, there’s much to look forward to: sun, beach vacations, pool parties and lots of heat! All of which are great and wonderful to look forward to, but your makeup bag may need some more room. Can your make up and hair take the heat? Avoid melting foundation, smudged mascara, running eyeliner and a frizzy mane while soaking up the sun poolside at a rooftop party. Stay flawless in the heat this summer with the help of these fab products below:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover

Keep your foundation from melting dripping into the pool with a base that keeps everything together and protects your skin with SPF 15.

Argon Oil Hair Serum

Your strands will stay smooth and flawless from root to tip with Argon Oil Hair Serum which penetrates your hair before humidity does to keep your tresses frizz-free.

Dior Dior Show Waterproof Mascara

Take a dive without worrying about coming up from underwater with black streaks of mascara painting your pretty lil’ face. Go ahead and splash away– this mascara ain’t going anywhere!

Make Up Forever Waterproof Eyeliner
Be confident your eyeliner stays exactly what it’s supposed to be…a line! No smudging or smearing with these bad boys!
