I love Love. Yeah, I said it! And I’m not talking only about mushy-mushy, romantic, The Notebook type of love. I mean all of it. The love between you and your parents, your gal-pals, your furry friends, and your lover. I’m talking about the love you have for your passions in life. Whatever makes you happy: food, fun, anything and everything that makes us smile and enjoy life to the max.

I roll my eyes when Valentine’s Day is propped up as ‘Singles Awareness Day‘ because it points out the lack of love in your life, when it’s only a portion. It’s discounting the fact that love exists in so many other areas and makes people feel bad about what’s missing. I say F that. Take this day (and everyday, really) to be grateful and show the people you love how much you love them. Whether it’s a batch of group texts to your nearest to dearest to sending your mama her favorite flowers– we’ve all got love in our lives. Just show it and embrace it.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Overcoat Overload

Winter is certainly chilling my bones some days. As a Bay Area commuter, part of my journey to work every day consists of walking a couple miles in bustling downtown SF and along tranquil Lake Merritt in Oakland. The early morning breeze and evening chill makes me shiver with goosebumps.

To keep me warm and brave the icy wind, my coats have gotten longer and longer. Peep a couple of my favorite overcoats below:

Flop Top Galore

Who said you can’t wear a floppy hat in fall? Reminiscent of their summer, straw cousin, these wool floppy babies add the perfect mix of drama and sophistication. I still cain’t wait for it to be cold enough to pair with a long coat, tall boots with a chunky heel and dainty hoop earrings. Bad hair day or not,

Check out some looks below…

Sweaters Only

Do you feel it? That crispness in the air? Chilly breezes raising goosebumps across your skin? Oh yeah. That’s fall alright. And you know what that means…sweaters, baby! You don’t know how much I’ve been waiting for this day to arrive. Here in the Bay Area, fall weather starts a tad bit later than the norm, but with recent dips on my thermostat, I think summer is finally over!

Looks like I’ll be prancing at the pumpkin patch in a big ol’ sweater, tall boots and chunky scarf after all. I’m super into bold graphics and prints, off-the-shoulder, and cutie-patootie animal sweaters. Take a peek at some sweaters I’m diggin’ right now…

Cranberry Love

As the leaves start to change shades and fall to the ground, that warm and fuzzy feeling of seasons changing from summer to fall arises and memories of cozying up next to the fire with a hot chocolate flood my mind.

What I also love about seasons changing are the sultry and warm fashion and beauty colors. One of my favorites this season is a deep cranberry hue, which has been majorly trending in stores and magazines this fall. Dark lips are the ‘it’ statement for beauty followed by cranberry accessories, dresses, and sweaters for fashion.

Today, I’m heading on a plane back today from Vegas after SIX long days. Yes, you read that correctly. SIX days in Vegas. Don’t get it twisted, it was half work and half play. Coincidentally, my best friend’s birthday extravaganza lead immediately into the MAGIC convention.
After days of shopping, laughing, gambling, partying, walking the strip, checking out vendor booths, making purchases, networking, and the like, all I want to do is be comfortable as possible. What do I call comfort? A long maxi dress! I’m loving this look with wedges studded wedges and the pop of color with a cobalt blue satchel. Even though I’m currently not in wedges, I wish I wasn’t so terribly exhausted so I can strap on a pair. Sandals today it is!
Anyway, they’re calling for my group to board—cattle call style on Southwest. Happy Thursday!

Vegas Bound!

In two weeks, we’re heading down to Sin City for my best friend’s birthday. My dad always asks why we head down to Vegas every year and one of my reasons is definitely shopping for the trip. With bottle service booked at One Oak, it’s go big or go home! Here are some looks that I’ve been tossing around. Your thoughts?

Face Mask Time!

Every day our face takes a beating. No, not a physical beating, but from the simplest things such as the air we breathe! Our skin is like a sponge and absorbs whatever it comes in contact with and unfortunately the air isn’t the cleanest thanks to pollution and neither our hands, which are the biggest culprits in clogging our pores. And we all know the sun isn’t our best friend either 😦

One of my favorite ways to revitalize and cleanse my skin is with face masks. Every week, I grab one of these miracles in a bottle, cake my face and wait for the magic to happen. And the result? Clean skin, small pores…the works! You don’t even need to spend your whole paycheck either. Make your own masks at home! I can’t wait to mix up some beauty concoctions in the kitchen. You know I’ll follow up with a blog post 😉

A Dress For the Wedding

It’s wedding time! Seems like every other weekend is filled with some sort of bridal, bachelorette, or wedding activity, which is totally A-OK with me because I have a new excuse to shop for the event. Ha! With a wedding in the Bay Area a couple weeks out, ideas are already starting to brew on what to wear. With attending a grad program at FIDM, I get new ideas every day, which also makes the decision-making even harder.

Here are several ideas for an afternoon wedding that continues into the evening. I’m aiming for a look that’s transitional. You know, not too Easter-brunch-ish and not too Vegas inspired– something right in the middle.

Take a peek below:

Beach Bummin’

As I’m entering the middle of this hectic first quarter of my grad program, I can barely find the time to blog. Sorry, folks! Within the past 36 hours I’ve had 4 midterms and a huge presentation. Can you say ‘no life’? I’m happy to say I currently have a little bit of breathing room so, where’s my first escape to relax? My blog.

Today’s Polyvore inspiration is 100% influenced by my mood. All I want to do right now is teleport myself to a tropical beach with white, soft sand and clear water, lay down on a comfy lounge chair that’s strategically placed underneath an umbrella, magazine in hand, with a bucket-o-brews by my side. No cell phone, no laptop, not a damn thing.

The next thing I consider as I’m daydreaming about relaxing at the beach, is what am I gonna wear? As I hate tan lines, strapless is my go-to. I’m crazy for color and prints and new styles away from the typical string bikini and opt for a synched bottom with a v-cut on top. After splashing in the water, my hair goes absolutely cray-cray– a hat is a necessitiy so, why not add a little bit of drama with this floppy brim. As you see, with the bucket-o-brews, my tummy won’t be so flat so, that’s where I cue in this fab fringed and laced sarong.

As I type away, I’ve easily convinced myself to book a trip and visit my friend in Miami. Enough with all this typing. Bring on the beach bumming!
