Last Christmas, my beautiful mom bought me my first ‘big girl’ watch. It’s a fabulous rose gold Michael Kors watch. To me, it’s absolutely stunning! Take a peek below:

Ever since I received this gift, I’ve been obsessed with rose gold and apparently so has everyone else. Every store I stepped into this past weekend was dripping in rose gold rings, bracelets, necklaces, hair accessories– you name it! Take a break from the usual gold and silver and dip into something different. Rose gold is soft, feminine and extremely flattering on most skin tones. It’ll be a great addition to your jewelry collection! I promise!

Leaping for Leopard

Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a strange obsession with animal print– especially leopard! Even writing this post is making me drool. While shopping this weekend with my mom, aka my number one personal styling client, I could not contain myself at Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I think I was the MOST excited human being in the whole damn department store! From wedge, open toe booties to large, calf hair handbags to silk, sheer tops– I was in leopard heaven. Just one piece of the sexy print turns your outfit from snooze to HELLO! Like a bright color, leopard print adds that pop to any outfit. And all you need it one piece only! Not one piece more. You may get away with a handbag and shoe, but I better not catch any of you wearing leopard print from head to toe. And I’m so serious.

Another Ombre Trend

As if the list of ombre trends couldn’t get any longer! Getting bored with the same ol’ nail color? If you’re not the wild color-design-minx type of girl, opt for an ombre manicure! Simply select 3 to 5 different shades of your favorite color that transition from light to dark. Then paint your little heart away!

Brush Time!

It’s important to invest in quality makeup brushes. Great brushes last longer and apply your makeup much more smoothly and evenly. Treat your brushes well, and they’ll keep you looking just fab! While chatting with a few girlfriends, they asked me, “How do you wash your brushes and how often?” I replied with the following:

1. Spray with a brush cleaner weekly. 
1. Spray the bristles of your makeup brush. Wipe a clean cloth with the moistened brush until the brush is clean. If it’s been a while since you last cleaned your brushes, you may need to spray several times.
2. Deep clean monthly.
1. Run the tips of the bristles under warm water. Pour a little shampoo into the palm of one hand. Holding the brush in the other hand, swirl the bristles around in the shampoo. Rinse the brush by swirling in a bowl of clean warm water. Use a cloth to wipe the brush clean; then lay it flat on a cloth to dry.

I’ve only had one hair stylist my entire life. Growing up, it was easy for me to schedule an appointment with her since we lived in the same city. Now that I’m all grown up and out of my parent’s nest and an hour and a half away, I have to schedule a weekend trip just to get my hair done. Trust me ladies, she’s THAT good! Once you find a person that you trust completely with your hair, you don’t want to lose them. So as I’m rearranging my life around my hair appointments, I think, “What will I do if I move to another STATE?”

After some Google time, I came across StyleSeat. On this site, you can find stylists, book appointments, grab local deals and browse though inspirational looks. Not only is the site a great resource for hair stylists, but for massage therapists and personal trainers too. Go wellness!

Loose Locks + Flirty Braids

Since this is the second time I’m writing about them, I’m clearly loving the braid trend a tad too much! But then again, who cares?! Anyway, this summer, my current look is wearing my hair down with a braid or two in the mix. Wearing my hair down is my number one go-to style when my hair is curly or straight. Adding a braid or two in the look uses a teeny-weeny bit more effort for a phenomenal finished look. Braiding hair from the front of your face is a great way to highlight certain features and frame. Try small braids towards the middle and top of your crown to add visual texture. When finished, you’ll achieve a confident, gorgeous and playful look.

Summer Daily Wear

When it comes to dressing, I’m a fuss-free kind of girl, especially in the summer when it’s hot and my sweat glands are going bananas (too much info?). My number one go-to look is a fun and sweet summer dress. Simply zip up or slip over your head and you’re done. There are so many different styles, structures, colors and prints to play with so, the summer dress never gets boring. Halter, one-shoulder, sweetheart dresses— I love them all! What’s also another obsession of mine are the details on each piece. Any dress that has a lil’ something extra makes it unique and sets it apart from the others.
